What I do:
As an Information Systems Analyst I am primarily responsible for data landscaping. I focus on African countries, in particular those in Eastern Africa, and work at regional, national and subnational levels. I also provide technical support to DI’s work around data interoperability and joined up data standards together with appraising new and innovative data sources, data technologies and analysis techniques.
Previous experience:
I have worked across various industries for the last 10 years with experience ranging from technology to research and international development. I have experience as a software engineer and a consultant in the field of data management planning, infrastructure, design and policy for an international NGO. I have also worked within the civil society space lobbying and advising on state–society relations, social contract in policy, human rights and sustainable development. During engagements with the World Economic Forum’s Africa Regional Strategy Group and the G7, I contributed to international policy development.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Daystar University, Kenya, and diplomas in ICT from the University of Cambridge.
