What I do:
As a Project Manager, I am responsible for oversight of day-to-day project management, ensuring projects are delivered according to time, cost, and scope.
Previous experience:
Previously I was a Program Manager at Global Initiative for Resilience and Development. I led projects in Somalia with a focus on supporting refugees and returnees with establishing Village Savings and Loan Associations, skills and business training. I was also the lead on partnerships development and growing the organisation, with recent expansion in South Central Somalia. I also coordinated a consortium involving local partners and Plan International, leading the proposal and bids.
Prior to this, I worked with Adeso as a Senior Program Officer, where I supported the publication of the first Covid-19 economic and health impact report on Somali Households, and worked on Covid-19 emergency WASH programmes, and Climate- and Resilience-related programmes. I also supported internally displaced persons and host communities and marginalised communities with skills and business development, supporting with both immediate relief and long-term resilience building with a focus on hard-to-reach areas in Somalia.
I have also worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant with Axiom M&E in Kenya. During my time there I evaluated UN- and EU-funded projects in Somalia, with a focus on assessing the effectiveness of Technical, Vocational and Education Training (TVET), labour markets assessments and barriers for internally displaced persons and returnees in employment.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from University West of England and an MSc in International Development from the University of Bristol.
